- Biography
- Malcolm X was born in Omaha, Nebraska later on moving to Michigan. From a young age Malcolm lived through racism, dealing with most of his uncles and father dying due to racism, even having multiple confrontations with the KKK. Malcolm used his confrontations with racism and the Islamic religion to start advocating for Civil Rights. He was known for his aggressive, more violent take on social justice and told African Americans to stand their ground against racism. Malcolm X also built temples around the United States and was a minister at some of those temples. He built temples in cities in America such as Harlem, Boston and Philadelphia. Malcolm X knew and worked with many notorious people. Even though they had different views on Civil Rights Malcolm knew MLK Jr. MLK Jr. was another notorious Civil Rights activist. Another notorious person Malcolm X knew was Elijah Muhhamad. Elijah Muhammad was the leader of the Nation Of Islam, and he appointed Malcolm as his national representative. In 1965 during a speech in Manhattan Malcolm X was assassinated at the age of 39, leaving behind his wife and 6 children. Malcolm X’s death is controversial still to this day. His family is suing and claiming that the New York Police Department, the C.I.A and the FBI had a part in the death of Malcolm X. Malcolm X will always be remembered for what he did and will always be known for his influential role as a Civil Rights activist.
