Andrew Maginn is a Visting Assistant Professor at Sewanee: the University of the South. A native of North Carolina, Andrew received his bachelor’s in American History from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian College, his master’s in European History from North Carolina Central University and his Ph.D. in Latin American and Caribbean History from Howard University.
Andrew is trained as a scholar of Slavery and Emancipation. His research focuses on Haitian emigration in the Atlantic World during the long nineteenth century. Andrew engages with students and scholars through teaching, research, curriculum development, and public-facing projects.
