Measuring 1 yard and 7 inches long (109.22cm), the sword of Bolívar, also known as the “Sword of Peru”, has a straight, saber-style sword with a steel-grey blade. The blade possesses intricate, floral engravings. The base of the blade has a
large, round rain guard made of gold and clear gems (likely diamonds). It also bears the image of two men wearing crowns and armed with spears. The cross-guard, also gold, is just below and has floral accents on either side. Below that is a golden hand guard, also with a floral design and a gemstone emblem. The grip is also made of gold and gemstones. It has an inscription, “El Peru A Su Libertador” or Peru To It’s Liberator; as well as a wreath with cloth reaching to either side of it. The pommel is in the shape of a man with long hair wearing a crown. - Provenance
