- After being moved a couple of times, the Body of Bolívar now rests in the National Pantheon of Venezuela. The central nave is dedicated to Bolívar, featuring a bronze sarcophagus at the former altar’s location. The vault is adorned with 1930s paintings depicting scenes from Bolívar’s life, and a large crystal chandelier, installed in 1883, hangs overhead, and with a few statues, one of which is of himself. It also has the flags of the countries he helped to liberate.
